Productivity Furnace cycle time was studied in detail by small groups and many kaizens were generated to reduce furnace cycle time.
44 7. FUTURE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES Our biggest challenge into the future wjll be to put in place the correct organizational structure to lead the new plants into the future. It is clear that hardware alone will not deliver the desired results. Focus, integration and awareness across the disciplines of process, maintenance, engineering, marketing and operations will be required to optimize the process fully. Currently it is envisaged that each of the product lines will be managed as independent businesses with a "product manager" assuming full responsibility for each product center.
